Sam Nakib

Sam is an industry veteran with over 30 years’ experience in the semiconductor industry in areas of marketing and sales, business development and general management. He is currently president and CEO of a semiconductor startup, T-RAM, backed by some of silicon valley’s leading VCs (NEA, TallWood, InterWest …). Sam also serves on the Board of Directors of another VC-backed startup, Mobius Microsystems.

Prior to T-RAM, Sam was President and CEO of Berkäna Wireless, another semiconductor startup in the wireless space. Berkana introduced the first fully integrated, CMOS, cellular RF transceiver for GSM/GPRS.  While at Berkäna, Mr. Nakib also oversaw development of the next-generation 3.5G transceiver. most importantly, Sam directed the company’s acquisition by Qualcomm in December 2005.

Before Berkäna, Sam served as Senior Vice President of Business Development and Tactical Marketing at Cypress Semiconductor. He came to Cypress through its acquisition of another semiconductor startup - IC Works. Sam was Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales at IC Works, where he grew annual revenue from zero to more than $80 million.

Prior to that, Sam had a full career at Texas Instruments. he spent 18 years there in senior international sales and management positions.

Sam grew up in Egypt and is originally from Palestine.  He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biochemistry from California State, Hayward.
